Some veins, especially on the leg, may become dark, purple or blue in colour. They look knotted, twisted and enlarged. Yes, these are varicose veins. Any vein can become varicose, but it is common on the legs. It may start as a cosmetic problem and can get complicated with pain. Here are some postures that can help prevent and heal the varicose veins.

POSTURE 1

1 Lie on your back with both legs folded

2 Stretch your right leg up; stretch the toes towards the knee; pull the knee cap and tighten the front thigh

3 Feel the stretch in the calf and back of the thigh

4 Stay for 30 seconds, change side, repeat and relax

POSTURE 2

1 Stand about two feet away from the wall

2 Flex the knees, and place the right foot inclined against the wall

3 Straighten right leg, and lift the left heel

4 Straighten the left leg and push the hips close to the wall

5 Stay for 30 seconds, change side, repeat and relax

POSTURE 3

1 Sit close to the wall

2 Lie on your back and lift your legs up, with hips touching the wall

3 Stay for three to five minutes; slowly push back
