Patnaik's close aides say that to understand him, one has to understand his empathy
My sense is that the [Ram] Mandir is a very big issue, a big chatter point. It will enthuse BJP cadres, supporters, voters and to that extent maybe polling percentage will be higher… But I do not meet many people who say that because of the Mandir I am shifting to the BJP.
My father belonged to the old school of thought, gentle, humble, modest and self-respecting. He considered it beneath his dignity to approach people for work. He only spoke to people he was comfortable with. His poetry was revered, but not marketed properly. Maybe if he was alive today, we would have persuaded him to hire a business manager.
The human interactions, conflicts of ego, and the thirst for power are what interest me. Many people define politics as the number of seats won by a party or most electoral politics. It is a separate thing that I am not interested in. I am interested in the power-play.
All top companies are being deliberately sent to Gujarat and so are trade and jobs, while we, in Maharashtra, are left with nothing but corruption and failure of government that favours goons, contractors and builders.
Now that I am married, it does not mean that I have to slow down. I wish people would not put everyone in that slot. Different people have different marriages, relationships and life…. It is one life which has all these departments in it and all of them are simultaneously running.
