AP holds Navnirmaana Deeksha to mark state formation

chandrababu-naidu Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh government has organised Navanirmaana Deeksha to mark the formation of the state from Friday. The Deeksha will end on June 8 with Mahasankalpam at Ongole.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said this campaign was to inspire people to contribute their little bit towards the development of Navya Andhra. With great feeling, Naidu recalled the great injustice that had been meted out to the residual state. He said that though the state government was progressing and showing a double digit growth, it still stood backwards, among the south Indian states.

Naidu wants the denizens of the state to remember the injustice meted out to the residual state and always keep in mind the unscientific way the bifurcation was done. He wants them to make a promise to rededicate themselves towards the progress of the state. Naidu also asked state officials to construct 1.5 lakh houses within the next 15 months, in the 37 municipalities of the state.

There will be five Deekshas over the seven days. The various developmental works will be explained to the people during these days and there will be constituency and district-wise meetings where the party men will discuss issues and progress of the state with the people. On Saturday, there will a review on the implementation of AP Reorganisation Act, followed by discussion on agriculture, water resources, interlinking of rivers, loan waiver and sustainable development on June 4 and welfare on June 5. Human resources development, health, education, investments and employment will be discussed on June 6 and good governance, people first and family growth  will be discussed on June 7.

The CM said that the final aim of the government was to make Andhra Pradesh the best state in the country by 2029.

Meanwhile, the only opposition in the state, the YSR Congress Party, thought that the seven days Deeksha was a joke. The vociferous MLA of the party R.K. Roja said that the seven-day Deeksha is a joke as there is nothing to boast about in terms of achievements. She also alleged that there are serious charges against Chandrababu Naidu, his son and cabinet colleagues, while not a single poll promise has been kept.
