TRS MLA slaps party MLC in public

trs10-pti

Internal tussle in the Telangana Rashtra Samiti took an ugly turn on Saturday with a party legislator slapping one of his colleagues in full public view.

Nizamabad (Rural) MLA Bajireddy Govardhan slapped his party MLC Bhupathi Reddy after an altercation between the two over a publicity material at Kalur in Nizamabad mandal. The issue started when Reddy's supporters started raising slogans over the absence of their leader's photographs on party's posters.

The enraged MLA lost his cool during the spat and hit out at the MLC. However, the prompt intervention of police stopped the altercation from escalating further.

According to reports, Govardhan is already facing charges of slapping a police officer. This is the second time a TRS MLA is involved in a slapping incident.

TRS MLA Guvvala Balaraju had slapped Congress MLA P. Rammohan Reddy during an arguments in Mahbubnagar in September last.
