The tit for tat summoning has started. A day after Pakistan summoned India's Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh to reportedly express concern over the acquittal of Swami Aseemanad in the Ajmer blasts case, India on Saturday summoned the Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan, Syed Haider Shah, to the ministry of external affairs to convey to him the 'goverment's grave concern and strong protest at the continuing incidents of ceasefire violations by the Pakistani side at the Line of Control and International Border.''

According to a statement by the external affairs ministry, "the government registered its strong protest at the fatal casualty of an Indian soldier in unprovoked firing by Pakistani forces on March 9, 2017''.

According to the Indian Army, the soldier was killed in Krishna Ghati in Poonch district during an unprovoked firing by Pakistan.

Pakistan had earlier protested the acquittal of Aseemanand in the Ajmer Dargah blast of 2007. Aseemanand is also accused in the Samjhauta Express blasts of 2007 in which 68 people, including 42 Pakistani citizens, were killed. Nafeez Zakaria, spokesperson of the foreign office of Pakistan, had called the acquittal regrettable. Pakistan says that Aseemanand had openly confessed he was the mastermind of the Samjhauta Express blast and had also identified Lt Col S Purohit as his accomplice.

The Samjhauta Express blasts case is still at trial stage.
