West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday lambasted the Modi government, saying that it was conducting surgical strikes against the people of India.

"After creating all this trouble, the prime minister has left for a foreign country," she said.

Mamata hit the streets and took stock of the situation as thousands of ATM in Kolkata went dry.

"I was travelling in the city and found that the ATMs were closed. What a mess they have created in the name of unearthing black money," she said.

Mamata on Saturday asked CPM and Congress join her.

“I am ready to join hands with even the CPM. We should take the fight to Delhi,” said she.

The West Bengal chief minister also wrote a poem in which she said that the Modi government would face a triple talaq in the coming election.

On Saturday, she entered into a quarrel with some of the bank staffers in Kolkata for giving only Rs 2000 notes.

“What rubbish. What is the use of giving a person Rs 2000. Even Rs 100 has vanished from the market,” she said.

She instigated the people not to accept Rs 2000 note.

“Just refuse it. You all belong to working class. The real black money holder fled to a foreign country (without naming PM),” she told the people standing in queue in front of a bank.

Mamata threatened that she would take up the matter with Delhi on Sunday.

“Let’s see what I can do. I will not let the matter end like this,” she said.

She also rebuked prime minister’s statement from Japan.

“He destroyed the economy and fled the country without providing protection to the people. It’s a financial emergency,” she said.

“If they wish, they may shoot me, kill me or even can put me behind jail. But I am least bothered,” she said.
