After Rahul Gandhi, it's DMK leader Stalin's turn to flex some muscles

A video of DMK working president M.K. Stalin working out in a gym has gone viral on social media. A promotional video shot by his trainer and released by his PR team titled Never Give Up begins with a message, “Attitude and effort decides you.” With several thousand views on YouTube, the video was released a day after a video of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi practising Aikido with his coach created a buzz.

Dressed in a grey trouser and black vest, Stalin is seen working out in the gym following his trainer’s instructions. He is seen working out with dumb bells and toiling on the bench-press machine. He is also seen lifting weights and doing cardio exercises. Known to be a fitness freak, Stalin usually takes his daily walk at the pleasant, sprawling IIT campus and the Theosophical society campus in Chennai. These days sources say, in a move to keep him fit, he has chose to work out at the gym as well on alternate days. Stalin used to spend one and a half hours every morning for walking and yoga. Now, he has chosen to alternate between walking, yoga and work out at the gym to keep himself fit.

While Stalin’s video has gone viral, DMK seniors recall the good old days when his father M. Karunanidhi used to go for a morning walk inside the party headquarters campus in Anna Salai.

Following the footsteps of his father in leading the party and moving up the ladder to lead a strong opposition in a politically unstable Tamil Nadu, Stalin, at 65, looks young and energetic in the video.
