Vishwa Hindu Parishad international working president Pravin Togadiya, who had allegedly gone missing, was found late night on Monday from near Kotarpur Water Works in Ahmedabad in a semi conscious condition.

According to primary reports, Togadia's blood sugar was low. He has been admitted to the Chandramani Hospital in Shahibaug and his condition is reported to be stable. Police are expected to record his statement later.

Earlier, the Detection of Crime Branch in Ahmedabad had formed four teams to trace Togadia after the latter mysteriously went “missing”.

Even as the DCB formed the teams, protesting VHP workers in various parts of the state questioned what they described as “police inaction”.

The VHP had alleged that Togadia was arrested by the Rajasthan Police. However, things took a little serious turn when the Gujarat Police said that neither they nor the Rajasthan police had arrested him.

The Rajasthan Police had come to Gujarat to execute an arrest warrant against him in connection with an old case. The warrant was under section 188 of the IPC.

DCB joint commissioner of police J.K. Bhatt said that the Rajasthan Police went empty handed from Togadia's residence as they could not find him.

The VHP workers had staged protests and blocked the busy Sarkhej-Gandhinagar highway linking Ahmedabad with Gandhinagar.

Bhatt said that Togadia had told “static jawan” Vikramsinh around 10.45 am that he was going out and would come in half an hour. He went with one bearded person in an auto, the police officer said.

The sixty-two-year-old leader is having “Y” category security.

Bhatt claimed that Togadia had told the guard last night that he should report on duty at 2.30 pm on Monday. The guard reached around 2 in the afternoon.

While state VHP general secretary Ranchhod Bharwad appealed the VHP's workers to observe calm, he also said that the responsibility of the VHP leader's security and whereabouts was of the state government.
