A clip of the song “Shape of You” soothing a crying baby, Gracie, has gone viral

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran broke numerous chart records within the first week of the release of his third album,  ‘÷’, earlier this month. In one week's time, all 16 of the tracks entered the UK Top 20 and the album surpassed 1 million chart sales in the UK alone. As the world cannot stop grooving to his numbers, it is Shape of You, from his latest album, that is breaking internet like no other pop song has done in the recent past.

As Ed Sheeran is edging closer to a chart record with his Shape of You refusing to budge from the number one position for an 11th week, a clip of the song soothing a crying baby, Gracie, has gone viral—calling her, perhaps, the youngest fan of the singer.

The adorable video shared on Twitter by the parents, Joanne and Gareth Nye, shows baby Gracie mid-tantrum, crying her lungs out. However, she stops immediately after she hears the opening music of Shape of You. The very next moment you see is a cute, happy baby wiggling her arms and legs to the rhythm. Sharing the video, her father Nye wrote on Twitter: “Our baby loves Ed Sheeran! Perfect for calming her down! Shame she can’t come to see him on #dividetour.”

Earlier in the week, a photo of a two-year-old British girl went viral for her apparent resemblance to the singer. The toddler, Isla, became an overnight internet sensation after her picture went viral, calling her baby doppelganger of the singer. Isla celebrates her third birthday in May.

Meanwhile, social media users cannot stop tapping their foot to “the Obama version” of the song. The internet is flooded with videos of the former President of the United States unofficially 'covering' the pop songs—his speeches edited to fit the lyrics of the song. The video even features a cameo by former first lady Michelle Obama.
