SnowVillage offers the ultimate Westeros experience in snow and ice

Are you a Game of Thrones fan? Have you ever dreamed of an ultimate Westeros experience complete with the ice-cold chill of the winter and what lies beyond The Wall? A new hotel in Lapland, Finland, has turned fantasy into reality for all those who have been 'awaiting the arrival of winter and of the darkness it brings along.' Lapland Hotels SnowVillage offers the ultimate Westeros experience to the fans of the Game of Thrones series.

HBO Nordic collaborated with Lapland Hotels SnowVillage to construct a Game of Thrones-themed hotel made just of snow and ice. The hotel is located in the resort of Kittilä, which is 200 kilometres (almost 125 miles) above the Arctic Circle and around 90 minutes from Helsinki, Finland's southern capital.

Designed by professional ice sculptors from Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Latvia, the hotel offers a bone-chilling experience (literally) amid giant dragons and dire wolves carved into the walls. On one of the walls, you can trace the icy borders of the map of the seven kingdoms. The larger than life experience is made complete with an eerie Braavos' Hall of Faces, an ice replica of the Iron Throne, guarded by an Ice Mountain (Gregor Clegane), and a dragon-shaped ice slide. Though each room has its own GoT sculpture carved into the walls, the one room that will certainly take your breath away is the cold, white room dedicated to a scary white walker, complete with blue lit-up eyes.

The GoT-themed hotel consists 24 rooms, of which 10 are suites for guests staying overnight. The beds are made of individually decorated ice sheets. Since temperatures drop to -5 degree Celsius inside the rooms, the guests are provided with high-quality thermal sleeping bags to keep them warm all night. If the icy conditions of the hotel is not what you want for your cozy holiday then you can opt for one of the wooden cabins nearby. For travellers who do not wish to stay at the hotel, SnowVillage offers tickets for day trips for a quick experience.

The entry ticket to the SnowVillage costs $18 (Rs 1,138) and room rents start at $200 (Rs 12,650).
