Most of us are fascinated by actors and their fit, picture-perfect bodies. However, not many of us know the secrets that help them achieve this physique. THE WEEK caught up with some young actors who shared their fitness secrets.

Sophie Choudry: For Sophie, fitness is a way of life. She exercises regularly and believes in eating healthy. “You have to feel good within to look good on the outside. I believe in Pilates strongly. It keeps you fit, flexible and builds core strength. I train at Yasmin Karachiwala's Pilates studio a few times a week. I do cardio by either cycling or walking on the treadmill and I've just started aerial yoga which I'm thoroughly enjoying,” she says.

Sophie has had two slipped discs in the past. That is why she is conscious of what she can and cannot do. Dance makes her happy and she thinks that is her way to be sporty. “I'm someone who watches all kinds of sports but after school, I haven't played much. I think Latin dance is my sport and pleasure.”

The VJ-turned-actor is also very strict with her dietary habits. “I hardly eat rice and roti. I stick more to salads, grilled chicken, lots of vegetables, soups. Post 4 pm, I only eat cooked food. No fruit or salads. And I have dinner by 8 pm. I truly believe breakfast should be your largest meal and lunch should be substantial, too. Dinner should be as light as possible,” she says.

Tiger Shroff: Known for his chiselled physique and six pack abs, Tiger is considered one of the fittest actors in the industry. However, the actor says that achieving such a physique has not been easy. “I devote too much of emphasis on my eating habits,” he says.

The also refrains from eating fried and unhealthy food and is strict about his diet. “I am very strict about what I eat and the time I devote to sleep. I refrain from eating spicy food and generally prefer boiled and steamed vegetables.”

Nidhhi Agerwal: Having started her profession as a model, newbie actor Nidhhi Agerwal is a trained ballet dancer for nine years. However, as a model, she knew little about working towards a healthier body and it was just before her debut as an actress, she took to working out as a serious business.

“As a model, I used to go to the gym but never discovered the right way to strengthen my body. After I came to Bollywood, I started training seriously. I even showed my trainer a picture of Katrina Kaif and told him that I aspire to become as fit as the actor.”

The actor who has an hour glass figure thanks her trainer for helping her achieve a fit body. Though she agrees that she also cheats sometimes. “My trainer began weight training when we started the process. He had put me on a strict diet. However, I do cheat sometimes and I continue working hard on my body the next day,” she says.
