“Our officials scrutinise all those project outlines sent by senior bureaucrats in Bengal very cautiously, but they have nothing"

BJP leader and central minister Uma Bharti, on Saturday, said that IAS and IPS officers in West Bengal had lost their brilliance serving the state government.

The union minister visited Howrah and 24 Parganas as part of an assignment given by party president Amit Shah.

Bharti said central government could not release more funds for the West Bengal projects because those prepared by the state government officials lacked details and logic.

“Our officials scrutinise all those project outlines sent by senior bureaucrats in Bengal very cautiously, but they have nothing. They are simply not readable at times,” said Bharati.

She further added that the bureaucrats in Bengal were highly politicised.

“The situation is so bad that law and order come secondary for these IAS and IPS officials. Their job is to simply appease Mamata government. The state government has to take the complete blame,” said she.

She was in Howrah and speaking to media. She said that the state had done nothing to clean river Ganga.

“They did not even utilise the funds properly,” said the union minister.
