Lamborghini Super SUV 'Urus' launched in India at Rs 3 cr

Lamborghini Urus is just the sort of luxury SUV that many have been waiting for

Lamborghini Automobili launched its Super Sport Utility Vehicle, Urus, in Mumbai on Thursday. This luxury SUV is from Lamboghini’s stables that can be enjoyed not just by the driver but by other passengers, too. Since a lot of Lamborghini buyers are keen on bigger cars that are not just sportscars and can seat more people than the driver and the co-passenger, the auto major has set about designing Urus, which delivers everything that a Lamborghini lover would expect in his/her vehicle. That too, without compromising on the Lamborghini DNA. You will be surprised, but Urus comes with enough trunk space to take three golf bags and eight cabin trolleys, making it a great companion for those who travel with families.

Urus boasts a magnificent personality and great engine prowess with the authentic Lamborghini sound. The engine is compact, powerful and torquey which makes it a supremely agile SUV.  It comes with their first turbo-charged engine in their range which is a front mounted 4.0 liter, V8 twin-turbo engine, mated to an 8-speed gearbox that delivers 650 hp@6000rpm, maximum 6,800 rpm and 850 Nm of maximum torque at just around 2,250 rpm. Urus does 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 12.8 seconds and has a top speed of 305 km/h, making it the fastest SUV available according to Lamborghini.

In terms of weight to power ratio also, it claims to be the best in class because at Lamborghini, they worked very hard to reduce the weight of the car.

The Lamborghini Urus costs Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom) and the first deliveries are expected to start somewhere around July/August. But going by what Andrea Baldi, General Manager, Asia Pacific, said that “we are sold out for 2018 production”, maybe it's best to start queuing up with that chequebook now.
