TELEVISION DEBUT

Priyanka made her American TV debut with the critically acclaimed thriller series Quantico, becoming the first South Asian to headline an American series. She is also the first South Asian to win a People’s Choice Award—favourite actress in a new TV series (2016). Priyanka also won the favourite dramatic TV actress award in 2017.

PRIME TIME STAR

Priyanka’s appearances on various American talk shows such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live has hugely aided her popularity with the American public. In one memorable appearance in March 2017, she taught Fallon how to play Holi.

HOLLYWOOD DEBUT

Baywatch (2017) had crude attempts at comedy, a weak story and blatant female objectification (which was expected). Almost all critics panned the film; some said the only silver lining was Priyanka’s performance as Victoria Leeds. Her upcoming Hollywood projects are A Kid Like Jake and Isn’t It Romantic.

THE ‘EXOTIC’ SINGER

Priyanka first ventured into the American entertainment industry as a singer. Her first single In My City (featuring will.i.am), in 2012, got mixed reviews from critics, but was nominated in three categories—Best Female Artist, Best Song and Best Video—at the 2012 World Music Awards. She released Exotic (featuring Pitbull) in 2013 and I Can’t Make You Love Me in 2014.

ON THE JURY

Priyanka was appointed to the jury of the 16th edition of the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2017, to judge the documentary/student visionary competition.
