Former cricketer Michael Vaughan has made constant digs on the Indian team since the beginning of the ongoing England tour of India. It was no surprise to see the former England captain take a jibe at the hosts during the fourth T20I, which India won by eight runs on Thursday.
Vaughan, who has previously said that the Indian Premier League side Mumbai Indians are a better team than Indian T20 team, tweeted about the number of players from the franchise who play for Team India.
“Just a thought ... @surya_14kumar Mumbai Indian ... @hardikpandya7 Mumbai Indian ... @ImRo45 captaincy Mumbai Indian !!!!,” he tweeted, tagging the IPL franchise.

Four Mumbai Indians players featured in India’s playing XI in the fourth T20I―Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma.
Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer, however, wasn’t amused by the observation and pointed out that Vaughan was actually trolling his own team players.
“When you say your team wasn’t defeated by a national team but by a franchise team, you’re not trolling your opponents, you’re trolling your own team. Night all,” Jaffer tweeted.

Other Twitter users, who weren’t willing to take Vaughan’s digs lying down, also slammed the English cricketer for trying to “divide and rule”, a reference to the British Raj.
