When will 'Stranger Things' season 5 finale episode be out? Check India release date, where to watch

With just a week to go before the release of the two-hour finale episode of Stranger Things season five (volume two), netizens worldwide have been taking to various social media platforms to express excitement (and perhaps some sadness) at the beloved series coming to a close.

But when exactly can you watch the final episode of the Duffer Brothers's Stranger Things in India?

While volume one of season five, containing the first four episodes, released at 6:30 AM on November 27 in India, volume two will come out on Netflix at 6:30 AM IST on December 26.

Volume two will contain the next three episodes of season five, after which the last episode—sure to be a rollercoaster two-hour-long ride—will release at 6:30 AM IST on January 1, 2026.

Notably, while the finale episode is significantly longer than the other episodes this season, which average around one hour, it is still shorter than the season four finale, which was about 2.5 hours long.

The Stranger Things cast also wished fans worldwide on Christmas Eve (US time) with a special rhymed video containing many references to the show.

"A happy stranger eve to all and to all a good night," the video's caption read, with thousands of fans in the comments celebrating 'strangemas', and waiting to get back to the Upside Down.

This Netflix article even has a countdown to the release of volume two, adding to the anticipation.

"I’m kind of surprised there’s that much material to wrap up the show to be honest," a Redditor wrote.

"I’m ready to be done with talking about it and teasing about it ... and just watch it!" another Redditor wrote.

"2 HOURS FOR THE FINALE??? THAT’S A FEATURE FILM," an X user exclaimed.

“Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished—his whereabouts and plans unknown,” reads the official synopsis for season five (as a whole)—set in 1987.

Notably, back in season one, the Duffer brothers had written a 25-page document for Netflix that "delves into the mythology of the cryptic alternate dimension".

“The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in Season 5 ... And that’s really going to affect what Season 5 is about," Ross Duffer had said earlier.

The last season features Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, and Linda Hamilton, among others.
