9 killed in truck-car collision in Maharashtra's Raigad

In another car-truck collision incident, at least nine people including a child died on the Mumbai-Goa highway in Maharashtra's Raigad district on Thursday morning. According to the police, the truck collided with a car in which the family was travelling. 

It was around 4.45 am the accident took place near Repoli village in Raigad, around 130 kms from Mumbai. Reportedly, the victims, all relatives, were going in a Maruti Suzuki Eeco van to Guhagar town in Ratnagiri district. 

Superintendent of police, Somnath Gharge had told PTI that the truck was headed towards Mumbai. The deceased were all residents of Hedvi village in Guhagar, reported PTI. 

The visuals of the collided vehicles surfaced on social media. 

Among the nine people, three were women and one was a child. According to the police, one child was seriously injured in the accident and is currently undergoing treatment in the Mangaon government hospital.
