The first look of cricketer Harbhajan Singh’s debut Tamil film Friendship was released on Friday. The film, directed by John Paul Raj and Sham Surya, also features actor Arjun Sarja.

According to reports, it also marks entry of former Sri Lankan news anchor Losliya in Kollywood. She shot to fame after participating in the third season of popular reality show Bigg Boss Tamil, hosted by Kamal Haasan.

The poster reveals that the movie will release in August. However, with the COVID-19 induced lockdown affecting movie releases, it remains to be seen if the makers can stick to the release schedule.

Harbhajan took to Twitter to share the poster. He interestingly tweeted in Tamil.  Harbhajan has a special bond with Chennai and Tamil, considering he has been part of the Chennai Super Kings IPL team for three seasons. However, his role in the film is exactly known.

The India off-spinner recently said he is still hopeful of a comeback after four years since he last played for the national side. He has said that he is ready and if he can bowl well in the Indian Premier League, it is possible for him to return to international cricket, at least in T20Is.

Harbhajan played for India last in 2016 during the Asia Cup. The cricketer, however, feels he can give more to the team.
