Sindhu outplayed the Glasgow Commonwealth Games champion 19-21, 21-15, 21-17 to reach the pre-quarter.
The two-time World Championship bronze medallist had spanked Laura Sarosi of Hungary in her opening match on Thursday.
Earlier in another match Kidambri Srikanth beat Sweden's Henri Hurskainen 21-6, 21-18 to reach the men's singles pre-quarterfinals.
