After complaints about lack of furniture and TV sets in Indian player's apartments in Rio de Janeiro, Chef de Mission Rakesh Gupta has decided to buy more chairs and TV sets through the Indian Embassy.

“Following a request from our hockey teams to provide them with more chairs and TV sets, I had spoken and also written to the Organising Committee (OC) to do so,” Gupta said.

India's chief hockey coach Roelant Oltmans had complained that there were not enough chairs, tables and TV sets in the apartments of men's and women's teams that have reached the Brazil city for 2016 Olympics.

“We have decided to put one TV set on each of the floors and also put additional chairs also. The equipment is expected to be placed in the apartments in the next few days,” Gupta said.

Oltmans had earlier said that he wanted the players to watch hockey matches live on TV in their apartments so that they could prepare themselves for the upcoming matches against these opponents. OC representative said they would check if the apartments can receive the cabling.
