China has come out against the United States and its response to the COVID-19 situation with a short video, showing that the US did not pay heed to the warnings given by Beijing.

In the animated video titled ‘Once Upon a Virus’, Lego figures in the guise of a Chinese warrior and the Statue of Liberty, representing the countries, are seen exchanging words about the coronavirus outbreak while showing the timeline of the outbreak and China’s handling of it. The Chinese maintain that they informed the WHO about the ‘strange pneumonia cases’ in December and the discovery of the virus in January. The American side is seen constantly rebutting the words of the Chinese.

The video ends with the US saying, “We are always correct, even though we contradict ourselves”, and the Chinese mocking them, “That’s what I love about you Americans, your consistency”.

The video was posted by the official Twitter account of the Chinese Embassy in France on Thursday.

The deadly virus, which broke out in China’s Wuhan region in December, has so far infected nearly 3.5 million people, with over 243,000 deaths. The United States has reported over 1 million positive cases and 66,000 deaths.

US President Donald Trump had accused China of creating the virus in a lab and “leaking” it out into the world. China has refuted the claims, saying that there is no evidence that the virus was created in a lab.
