Eco-activists interrupted the Brexit debate in the House of Commons when the took their clothes off in the public gallery on Monday.

Twelve men and women from Extinction Rebellion group had to be dragged after trying to glue themselves to the glass screen separating them from the MPs down below.

The protesters had slogans such as “climate justice act now”, “eco collapse”, and “stop wasting time” painted on their bare chests.

Two of the group dressed as elephants, suggesting that politicians neglect of the climate crisis had become an 'elephant in the room'.

While some protesters left the public gallery willingly, others reportedly had to be forcefully removed by Commons police.

All 12 were later arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency.
