Pierre Kalulu could well become a Manchester United player in January as Juventus are forced to sell the versatile defender to balance their accounts, a report said. However, there is no dearth of buyers, as the 26-year-old Frenchman is tracked by several other clubs.
Juventus must complete the sale of one of their big earners to be safe. There are reports that the Serie A team is looking to offload striker Arkadiusz Milik, but it may still not do the trick. Kalulu's current market value is said to be around €32 million, and he reportedly earns a gross salary of €3.4 million at Turin. If a handy sum is offered, Juventus will sell their prized defender, reports said.
The Olympique Lyonnais youth product arrived at Turin via AC Milan in 2025 and has three years left on his current deal. AC Milan are interested in getting him back and could pose a serious threat to United's January plans, Goal.com said in a report.
When Manchester United made an enquiry for the 26-year-old earlier this year, Juve shut down talks by labelling him an untouchable member of the squad. Kalulu can operate in the right-back role as well, which could make Diogo Dalot a potential option on the left side of the defence alongside Luke Shaw.
Kalulu was signed from Milan for €14 million and there are no reports on the sum the Old Lady has in mind for their man. However, they have already confirmed that anything less than €50 million is unacceptable, Goal.com said.
It is believed that Manchester United will now focus on rebuilding their defence after having roped in enough reinforcements in the attacking and midfield departments. Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, and Lisandro Martínez are under threat as the restructuring is expected to begin with the arrival of Lewis Hall next summer. The Englishman is almost certain to leave Newcastle United at the end of the season, and Michael Carrick's team will be identifying potential buys right from the winter transfer window.
