Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele has won the 2025 Men’s Ballon d’Or while Barcelona's Aitana Bonmati claimed the women's award for the third consecutive time.
Dembele became the sixth French player to lift the award and the first since Karim Benzema in 2022.

The 28-year-old burst into tears when he thanked his mother, who joined him on stage at the Paris ceremony.
“What I have just experienced is exceptional, I have no words for it, what happened with PSG. I feel a bit of stress, its not easy to win this trophy, and to have it presented to me by Ronaldinho, a legend of football, is exceptional,” he said.

Among other categories, Men’s Copa Trophy (for best young player) was awarded to Lamine Yamal while that of women went to Vicky Lopez of Spain. Both these Spanish players represent Barcelona.
The Yasin Trophy for best male goalkeeper was awarded to PSG’s Italian player Gianluigi Donnarumma. Chelsea’s English player Hanna Hampton was named for the women’s award.
The Gerd Muller Trophy for the top scorer in club or national team was awarded to Viktor Gyokeres (Sweden) in the male category and Ewa Pajor (Poland) in the female category.
