As we breeze through the Super Four stage of the 2025 Asia Cup, one team is looking like an unstoppable force at the moment - India. After their six-wicket win against Pakistan on Sunday (September 21), Suryakumar Yadav's men are only one win away from virtually sealing their spot in the Asia Cup final. India's remaining fixtures are against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, with the first of those games to be played on Wednesday (September 24) in Dubai.

While India hold an obvious edge over Bangladesh, their games have had some spice in it over the years. Add the unpredictable nature of the T20 format to this and you know that nothing can be taken for granted. That is exactly what Bangladesh head coach Phil Simmons is banking on and the West Indian exuded confidence in his side's ability to beat India. In fact, the talk about India being an invincible force isn't something that Simmons particularly agrees with.

"Every team has the ability to beat India," said Simmons at the pre-match press conference in Dubai.

"The game is played on the day-it's not about what India has done before, but what happens on Wednesday during that three-and-a-half-hour period. We will try to play our best cricket and hope to force errors from India. That's how we win games."

While his statements may appear to border on arrogance, it isn't as if Simmons doesn't agree with India's dominance as a T20 side. Apart from being the World Champions, Suryakumar's men are also the top-ranked side in this format and Simmons hopes that the underdogs tag will work in Bangladesh's favour in this fixture. In high-pressure games, decision-making often becomes of utmost significance as the margin for error is negligible.

"Every game has hype, especially those involving India, because they're the number one T20 team globally. We're going to ride that wave, enjoy the moment, and savor the game. That's our approach-to enjoy ourselves and therefore deliver our best performance."

It's been three days since Bangladesh's last game in the Asia Cup and now, they'll be featuring in games on back-to-back days. Just 24 hours after the India game, Bangladesh will be facing Pakistan at the same venue and this is probably the only thing that Simmons is worried about. The weather in Dubai has been demanding for players due to the heat and humidity, and even the evening games haven't been easy to deal with. Simmons, though, hopes that his boys are prepared for adversity.

"Playing back-to-back T20 matches, or ODIs for that matter, is extremely challenging. It's not ideal, but we've prepared thoroughly and trained hard. I believe our players are fit enough to handle consecutive games. Still, it's not fair to ask any team to play back-to-back T20s. It's far more difficult than people realize."
