Sri Lanka skipper Kusal Mendis won the toss and elected to bowl against India in their World Cup match in Mumbai on Thursday.

Dushan Hemantha came in for Dhananjaya de Silva for Sri Lanka, while India fielded the same XI that defeated England by 100 runs.

Sri Lankan cricket team wore black armbands in memory of their legendary cheerleader and superfan Percy Abeysekera.

He passed away recently after a prolonged battle with illness at the age of 87.

'Uncle Percy' as he was fondly known, was present at almost all the Sri Lanka matches from the 1979 World Cup, but he gained popularity after the 1996 World Cup which the country co-hosted.

Abeysekera was famous for waving a large Sri Lankan flag during the games, patting the players on their backs and even accompanying the players to and from the dressing room.
