Badminton star Saina Nehwal on Thursday expressed her gratitude to locals for their support during the Amarnath Yatra. Nehwal was talking to reporters after she, along with her family members, completed the annual pilgrimage.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the government and the wonderful people here for their immense help and assistance,’’ she said. “Their dedication and selflessness made this journey even more special for us.”
Nehwal described the yatra as a “momentous experience filled with blessings and communal assistance”.
She said the yatra has been an incredible journey for her and her family. “We feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to participate in this spiritual endeavour.”
Nehwal said she took a break from badminton to embark on a religious expedition.
She praised the arrangements and meticulous planning by the government for the safe yatra.
The ace shuttler appreciated the stringent security measures, well-equipped medical facilities, and well-maintained infrastructure arranged for the pilgrims.
Later, sharing the experience through a video message, she said, “This is a great day for my family and me. We are blessed to have been on the yatra. I would like to thank the government and people here for helping us so much”.
