Team India is known to be a formidable force on the cricket pitch and its players are among the best the country can offer. But there are many hidden passionate talens who haven’t yet made it into the team. These players, who have already made a name for themeselves after playing in various national tournaments, have also proved their mettle during the Indian Premier League, scoring runs or taking wickets. This list looks at the top uncapped Indian performers in the 2023 IPL season.

Rinku Singh

The 25-year-old recently caught the attention of fans all over the country after hitting five consecutive sixes against Gujarat Titans to chase down a score of 205. Picking up the pace in contrast to his previous IPL performances, the middle-order batsman for KKR scored a total of 474 runs this season with 31 fours and 29 sixes. He holds the record for the highest ever chase in the last over of IPL history, chasing down 29 runs in 5 balls. With an average strike rate of 149.12 in the past two seasons, he has helped his team win in many a game.

Tilak Varma

With wondrous performances in back-to-back seasons of the IPL, Tilak has been a consistent run-maker for his team, Mumbai Indians. Varma, who had scored 397 runs in the last season, racked up 343 runs in a total of 11 matches this time, thus taking his IPL aggregate to 740. The 20-year-old who scored 43 off just 14 balls against Gujarat Titans has a bright future ahead.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Hitting one of the highest scores in the season—124 against Mumbai Indians—the Rajasthan Royals batsman has had a stunning record which led him to win the Emerging Player of the Year award. Scoring 625 runs in 14 matches, with 82 fours and 26 sixes, the 21-year-old “has taken his game to another level” as said by Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma. He set the record of the fastest fifty in IPL, by scoring it off just 13 balls during a match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Tushar Deshpande

Backing up CSK’s bowling line, Tushar has been a key player for the side. Scalping 21 wickets in 16 matches, he has shown his skill on the field and helped his team achieve another title. However, despite being his team's foremost wicket taker, Tushar has also broken the record for most runs conceded, with 564 runs this season.

Akash Madhwal

Madhwal's 5-wicket haul helped MI knock out LSG in the eliminator round. With a total of 14 wickets this season, this bowler is another force to be reckoned with. The former engineer who had only played tennis-ball cricket till 2018 is so exceptional that he has apparently been banned from playing at local tournaments at his hometown of Roorkee. His bowling figure of 5/5 in 3.3 overs against LSG has set the best bowling figure in IPL’s playoff history.
