Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian forward Neymar has tested positive for COVID-19, with the club confirming that three players have contracted the coronavirus.
Though PSG has not revealed the names of the players, reports said that Neymar, Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes are believed to have tested positive for COVID-19.
“Three @PSG_English players are confirmed positive after a Sars CoV2 test and have undergone the appropriate health protocols. All players and staff will continue to be tested over the next few days,” the club tweeted.

All players and staff will continue to be tested over the next few days.
After the Champions League final, which PSG lost to Bayern Munich, last month, the three players were on holiday in Ibiza. The players will be required to self-isolate and are likely to miss the first PSG fixture of the new season against Lens on September 10.
ESPN reported that Neymar, who received his test results on Wednesday morning, is in good health and following protocol. He is in self-isolation for 14 days at his house in Bougival, Paris.
Neymar is the latest high-profile football player to test positive for COVID-19 after Manchester United’s Paul Pogba’s test results returned positive.
The previous season ended early, with 10 rounds of matches going without being played due to the pandemic. The start of the new season was disrupted earlier when four players from Marseille tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the season-opener against St Etienne.
Strasbourg, Lyon, Rennes, Nantes and Montpellier have also reported confirmed cases of COVID-19.
