Commuters in Delhi are facing massive traffic jams as vehicles have been stuck on the roads for hours after heavy rains on early Friday. Some of them took to social media to ask others not to travel through the Badarpur flyover to the Sarita Vihar metro station.

Locals said that it took more than an hour to get through four kilometres as vehicles were stuck in the same spot for over 30 minutes.

The Delhi Noida Direct DNDN flyway, Matura road, Vikas Marg, ISBT, Geeta Coony, and Rajaram Kohli Marg were the most affected areas.

The MB Road, Sarita Vihar underpass, was all submerged under three to four feet of water.
Panchkuian Marg, Mathura Road, and outside Bharat Mandapam. Commuters struggled to navigate through flooded roads, leading to multi-kilometre traffic jams.
The Delhi Traffic Police deployed personnel at key points throughout the city to manage the traffic flow.
The IMD also raised its weather alert from yellow to orange upon witnessing persistent rains in Gautam Buddha Nagar in Noida and Ghaziabad.
Both Delhi Airport and Indigo issued travel advisories to passengers. They clarified that flight operations are normal, but that inclement weather conditions are expected
Indigo has asked its passengers to plan and check flight details in advance.
