Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla adjourned the house till noon on Monday, after the opposition raised slogans demanding the suspension of house business and discussion on the Pahalgam terror attack.
The monsoon session of Parliament commenced on Monday. Leaders of the INDIA bloc had moved an adjournment motion seeking suspension of house business and sought discussion on the grave security lapse that led to the Pahalgam terror attack.

Adjourning the house, Speaker Birla said, "The government wants to answer on every issue. The House should function. You have not come here to raise slogans. The House functions as per the rules and regulations. All the issues raised according to the rules will be discussed."
The speaker said issues raised by the opposition will be discussed after question hour. "The House should function on the first day, and there should be a good discussion. I will give proper time and opportunity to every MP," the speaker had said.
