Ayodhya Pran Pratishtha: From alghoza to nadaswaram, a look at instruments being played on Jan 22

Dholak, shehnai, santoor and veena artistes will also perform during the ceremony

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has revealed that the idol of Ram Lalla (infant Ram) created by Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on January 18.

The puja rituals have commenced on Tuesday and will continue till January 21, according to the trust's General Secretary Champat Rai. On January 22, the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony will begin at 12.20pm and is expected to be completed by 1pm.

The Ram Lalla idol, made of stone weighs between 150kg and 200kg. Darshan of Ram Lalla is not available till January 21, reported ANI. The doors of the temple will be open to the general public from January 23.

During the consecration ceremony on January 22, different classical instruments will be played by prominent musicians from across the country. They will play the instruments when ritualistic chants are not taking place or when someone is not addressing, Rai said.

The musicians include bansuri and dholak artistes from Uttar Pradesh; hudka from Uttarakhand; shehnai from Delhi; alghoza from Punjab; ravanhatha from Rajasthan; santoor from Madhya Pradesh; tamboora from Chhattisgarh; sundari from Maharashtra; veena from Karnataka; mridang and nadaswaram from Tamil Nadu; ghatam from Andhra Pradesh; mardala from Odisha; sitar from Jharkhand; Shri khol and sarod from West Bengal; nagada and kali from Assam; pung from Manipur; and pakhawaj from Bihar.

More than 7,000 people have been invited by the temple trust to the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony and seating arragements have been made for around 8,000 people. Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani are among prominent personalities invited to the ceremony.
