Kerala: Police nab suspects in child abduction case from Tamil Nadu

Vehicles, believed to be used for the crime were also seized

Kerala police on Friday nabbed four persons, reportedly including a woman, in connection with the kidnap of a six-year-old girl in Kollam recently.

 According to reports, a special team of Kerala Police nabbed the suspects from Thenkasi in Tamil Nadu. Police have also seized two vehicles. A six-year-old girl, who was abducted in a white Maruti Swift car by a group of four from Kerala, was found 20 hours later, on Tuesday around 1.30pm from the Ashramam Maidanam in Kollam.

The girl was abducted from Oyur in Kollam district on Monday at 4.30pm when she was heading to her tuition class with her eight-year-old brother. When the boy tried to stop the abductors, they pushed him aside and whisked away the girl in the car. The child's mother got a phone call demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh which was later increased to Rs 10 lakh.
