Maharashtra Chief Minister in an act of retaliation has removed the portfolios of rebel ministers. Portfolios of rebel group leader Eknath Shinde, urban development has been given to Subhash Desai.

According to reports, nine ministers of the Maha Vikas Agadi cabinet are in rebellion against the government and are reportedly making moves to form a new government without attracting anti-defection law. Though talks were in progress between the two 'Sena' groups, rebels continue to stay in Guwahati and protest against MVA.

However, in a surprising move, CM Uddhav Thackeray has reallocated portfolios of ministers citing public interest. A release from Maharashtra DGIPR said, “The Chief Minister  has decided to hand over the accounts of the five absent Ministers and four Ministers of State to other Ministers to ensure that the work of public interest continues uninterrupted as well as smooth functioning of the departments in case of heavy rains and calamities.”

Water supply and Sanitation Dept of Gulabrao Patil has been reallocated to Anil Parab, Agriculture portfolio of Dadaji Bhuse allocated to Sandipanrao Bhumre, Higher and Technical Education Department to Aaditya Thackeray.
