On Sunday, the Aryan Khan case saw a major twist after a witness alleged he was in fear for his life.

According to reports, Prabhakar Sail, who was identified as the personal bodyguard of private investigator K.P. Gosavi, released a signed affidavit and video clips related to the arrest of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, in a drugs case. Gosavi's presence at the arrest of Aryan Khan had led to much criticism as he was not an NCB official. Gosavi, who took a selfie with Aryan after his arrest, has been missing since then.

Sail was one of the nine 'panch' witnesses to the arrest, which happened late on October 2. Sail alleged he was made to sign on 10 blank papers by the NCB.

In his affidavit, Sail claimed he overheard Gosavi and one Sam D'Souza discuss a demand for Rs 25 crore, but the duo decided to settle for "Rs 18 crore", of which Rs 8 crore was for NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede.

In the affidavit, Sail claims Shahrukh Khan's manager Pooja Dadlani arrived at the NCB office after Aryan's arrest. Sail claimed he saw Pooja Dadlani, Gosavi and D'Souza talk inside her vehicle. Sail said Gosavi directed him to collect Rs 50 lakh in cash from near the Indiana Hotel. Gosavi directed him to give the bags to D'Souza, near the Trident Hotel, where the latter counted the money and found it to have Rs 38 lakh.

In the affidavit, Sail stated Gosavi was missing and he feared NCB officials or other people may abduct or kill him.

The allegations from Sail led to an uproar. Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, who had previously claimed Central agencies were being misused in opposition-ruled states, shared a clip of Aryan Khan talking to someone while in NCB custody.

Raut tweeted, "Witnes in #AryanKhan case made to sign on blank paper by NCB is shocking. Also thr r reports that thr ws demnd of huge money .CM UddhavThackeray said tht ths cases r made 2 defame Mah'shtra.Ths seems 2b comng tru @Dwalsepatil Police shd tk suo moto cognizance.” He tagged Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil in the tweet.

NCB sources told NDTV the claims in the affidavit were "baseless" and made "just to malign the (agency's) image".

Wankhede also denied any wrongdoing, telling NDTV he "would give a befitting reply".
