The CPI(M) on Wednesday announced the portfolio allocation of its 12 members for the second term of the Pinarayi Vijayan government in Kerala. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will handle home and vigilance departments, while former Rajya Sabha MP K.N. Balagopal will succeed Thomas Isaac as the finance minister.
Former MP P. Rajiv will handle the Industries department, while former journalist Veena George will replace K.K. Shailaja at the health ministry.
The portfolios for the CPI(M) ministers were decided in an LDF meet held at AKG Centre in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram.
The portfolios decided are as follows:
K.N. Balagopal- Finance
P. Rajiv- Industries
V. Sivankutty- Education
V.N. Vasavan- Excise
P. Muhammed Riyas- Public Works Department, Tourism
Ahmad Devarkovil - Ports, Museum and Archaeology
K. Radhakrishnan - Devaswom, Social Welfare
M. Govindan-Local Self Governments
