L. Adimoolam of the Health & The Antiseptic was elected president of the Indian Newspaper Society on Friday. He will succeed Shailesh Gupta of the Mid-Day.
The announcement was made at the 81st annual general meeting of the INS—the apex body of publishers of newspapers, magazines and periodicals in the country—held in Bengaluru.
D. D. Purkayastha of the Ananda Bazar Patrika was elected deputy president. Mohit Jain of the Economic Times is the vice president and Rakesh Sharma of the Aaj Samaj is the honorary treasurer of the society. Mary Paul is the secretary general.
