The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the pending examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 as soon as the nationwide lockdown is lifted. The HRD ministry hopes that the examination process can be completed between April end and mid-May and the results can be published in June.

Amit Khare, secretary to the HRD ministry, however, said other options will be explored if lockdown is extended beyond April 14.

The exams, scheduled to be held between March 19 and March 31, were postponed in the wake of novel coronavirus pandemic in the country.

On Tuesday, an official in the HRD ministry told a national daily that a decision on the revised dates will be taken by the respective boards after assessing the situation after April 14.

“The results will also be delayed as the evaluation process too will start post the lockdown and results are expected in the month of June. But all this will depend if the examinations can be resumed after April 14,” he said.

Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has already extended the last date for the ongoing application process for the different entrance examinations, including ICAR exam, JNU entrance exam, UGC NET 2020 and CSIR NET 2020 June examinations.
