MS Dhoni is a very private person. When you factor in the magnitude of the craze that Indians have for him, every little gesture gets amplified, whether in a positive or negative sense. Plenty of examples related to cricket have been seen over the years, both on the field and off the field. This time, though, a new incident has happened and the video of it has gone viral.

The video posted by With Love India on social media platform X shows Dhoni and his staff being given special treatment during the airport security check. The 44-year-old is seen wearing his watch on one hand and a fitness device on the other. Airport regulations in India usually require the onboarding passengers to remove all accessories onto a tray that is then sent through the x-ray scan.

However, in this video, Dhoni and a few people after him are seemingly let off without proper checking. For starters, netizens allege that the whole zone was temporarily blocked for Dhoni and his staff to go through the process without inconvenience. Understandably, netizens are unhappy over the free pass that Dhoni and co got, considering how stringent the airport rules are for the common man.

"Dhoni is wearing a watch in one hand and a fitness device in the other. An ordinary citizen will be returned back to put them in the trays and rejoin the queue," wrote the With Love India handle on X as the caption for the video.

"No frisking ing, no requests to turn back for scan. It almost appears like entering a mall. VIP culture, double standards. If you are rich, you are perceived as safe. Then why have this fake security check at all."

Another person in the comments section echoed the sentiments while acknowledging the greatness of Dhoni.

"No doubt Dhoni is India's emotion but such a name-sake search does create a doubt on India's so-called security setup which should be the same for everyone.

"But the same super stars are strip-searched in the USA as was @iamsrk sahab faced in the past."

However, there was a section of netizens who felt that the video was being blown out of proportion. They felt that the handle who posted the video and a few of the commenting people are showing their strong negative bias against Dhoni.

"As a common man, I 100% support VIP lanes, culture, protocols. Otherwise VIPs have a risk of getting mobbed by the illiterate crowd. And the resources taken to react to such risks is far larger than maintaining a complete isolated protocol for VIPs. This post shows how ignorant common man can be when it comes to vip protocols. There may be many other secure steps in the process this short Dhoni video cannot show."
