In a shocking development, the daughter of a BJP MLA and her husband were beaten up outside the premises of the Allahabad High Court on Monday morning when they had arrived to seek protection. Sakshi Misra, daughter of BJP MLA Rajesh Misra, made headlines last week when she uploaded videos alleging a threat to her life after her marriage to Ajitesh Kumar, a dalit.

Sakshi and Ajitesh had reportedly got married on July 4. Sakshi claimed she faced a threat to her life from her father, brother and their associates following her intercaste marriage.
On Monday morning, local media reports claimed Sakshi and her husband were beaten up by some people, but were present in the court. Earlier, media reports claimed armed men in an SUV had kidnapped the couple.
