On Sunday, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic drama Padmaavat moved into the Rs 100 crore club, making it Deepika's seventh film to cross the mark. The films that cleared Padmaavat's path to success were Akshay Kumar's PadMan and Neeraj Pandey's Aiyaary. Both films were originally scheduled to release over the Republic Day weekend, but were pushed to February 9 to avoid competition. While Padmaavat has set cash registers ringing for some weeks, not many films are willing to take a chance at the box office this week.

Kuldip Patwal: I Didn`t Do It! is the only Hindi film scheduled for release this Friday. The two hour eight minute film is the story of a common man, Kuldip Patwal, accused of the murder of a local minister. He says he did not commit the crime, but the state does its best to prove him guilty. Kuldip might have countless motives to kill, but did he really commit the crime? The film will see Deepak Dobriyal, who played hilarious Pappiji in Tanu Weds Manu Returns, in a much serious role as the lead. The cast also includes popular actors Raima Sen and Parvin Dabas in important roles.

Also releasing this week is Jackie Chan's action-thriller Bleeding Steel, an action film with a sci-fi makeover. The film stars Jackie Chan, a special forces agent trying to protect his daughter from biotech mutants. The trailer promises one hour 50 minutes of everything that makes a Chan film—outrageous stunts, terrific action and his signature slapstick comedy.

The next in line is The Death Cure, the epic finale to the Maze Runner saga, based on James Dashner's young adult fantasy novels. In The Death Cure, Thomas, along with his group of escaped Gladers, face their final and most dangerous mission yet. They must break into the legendary Last City, a WCKD-controlled labyrinth, to save their friends. This could be the deadliest maze of all, but if they make it out alive they would get answers to the questions the Gladers have been asking since they first arrived in the maze.
