Akshay Kumar's "Bhooth Bangla" has demonstrated a steady performance in its third week in theatres, concluding its third week — the third Thursday, that is — with a decent number in domestic net collection.

The Priyadarshan-helmed horror comedy has crossed the 150 crore mark in India, with a total of 151.75 crore, and a worldwide gross of Rs 233.01 as per numbers reported by tracker Sacnilk.

Though the film saw a nearly 50% drop in its third week compared to its second-week collection, it remains resilient with decent occupancy in major circuits such as Maharashtra. Since it was made with a reported budget of Rs 120 crore, the film is considered a commercial success, having already recovered a significant portion of its costs through non-theatrical rights before release.

Unlike recent disappointments like "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" or "Mission Raniganj", which saw sharp drops after their opening weekends, "Bhooth Bangla" maintained stable numbers throughout its third week, earning around Rs 1.75 crore daily even on its third Thursday.

Its third-week collection, which comes to about Rs 21.85 crore, is said to be among the best for Akshay Kumar when compared to some of his most recent big releases, even outperforming the steady run of Sooryavanshi (Rs 16.3 crore) and significantly higher than "Jolly LLB 3" (Rs 7.3 crore). Its Week 3 numbers even edged past the third-week performance of other horror-comedy hits like "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" (Rs 21.4 crore).

"Bhooth Bangla" has become the first non-sequel Indian horror-comedy to achieve the Rs 250 crore worldwide gross milestone, likely due to its appeal among family audiences and the magic that comes from the golden Priyadarshan-Akshay Kumar combo, which has often proved to be a winning factor. The lack of major competition is expected to help it in its fourth week. It is projected to comfortably reach a lifetime total of Rs 160 crore net in India.
