After two weeks, the Malayalam coming-of-age sequel "Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros" has earned Rs 103.32 crore in total India gross collection, from 756 shows. Its domestic net earnings now stand at Rs 89.21 crore, as per Sacnilk box office data.

With an overseas gross of nearly Rs 75 crore, the worldwide total collection stands at Rs 176.05 crore as of now, nearing the lifetime gross of the Malayalam survival thriller "2018" in two weeks.

On the 13th day, "Vaazha 2" earned Rs 4.95 crore, which is slightly higher than its first day gross of Rs 4.75 crore. And the film already has the advantage of the hype generated by not only the success of the first film but also the popularity of its content creators-turned-actors Hashir H., Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak V.

"Vaazha 2", which features an all-newcomer cast, is now the fourth fastest Malayalam movie to earn Rs 100 crore worldwide after Mohanlal-starrers "L2: Empuraan" (it earned the same figure in two days) and "Thudarum" (in 6 days). It is now aiming for the 100-crore net at its home turf.

The small film, which features no big stars (or superstars), achieved this feat in just 7 days, matching the same pace as "Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra", and faster than Mohanlal's "Lucifer" (8 days), Jayasurya's "Aadu 3" (8 days), Prithviraj Sukumaran's "Aadujeevitham" (9 days), Tovino Thomas's "2018" (11 days), Soubin Shahir's "Manjummel Boys" (12 days), and Fahadh Faasil's "Aavesham" (13 days).

"Vaazha 2" has already surpassed the lifetime collection of the first part within just four days of its release. The original film, featuring a different cast of newcomers and up-and-coming actors, collected only Rs 38. 25 crore worldwide.

However, it is a hit considering its modest budget, which gave the makers the necessary push to go ahead with a sequel — a decision that turned out to be working exceedingly well in their favour.

And in two weeks, a third part was also announced, with an all-female cast (yet to be auditioned as the scripting isn't complete yet).
