We reported recently that Anurag Kashyap is back with a theatrical release after a long time, with Nishaanchi, backed by Amazon MGM Studios. The filmmaker has revealed the first look of the gangster thriller that will hit theatres on September 19, 2025.

Sharing the retro-flavoured poster, Kashyap wrote, "Poster chapwa diye hai, ab lagne waale hai. #Nishaanchi coming to theatres near you on September 19."

The film revolves around two brothers whose lives are dictated by the varied paths they chose. In his official statement, Kashyap said: "Nishaanchi is a story full of raw human emotions, love, lust, power, crime and punishment, betrayal, redemption and the consequences of it all. I have been extremely fortunate to find a bunch of good people and superb actors and my most beautiful crew to tell this story in the best possible way that I would have wanted."

Headlined by newcomer Aaishvary Thackeray, who began as an assistant director in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani, the film is bankrolled by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under the banner of Jar Pictures jointly with Flip Films.

Aaishvary Thackeray's co-stars include Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Kumud Mishra in pivotal roles.

Kashyap had shared earlier that the film had been in development since 2016 but he waited until the right studio came along to support his vision. "Amazon MGM loved it, believed in it, and became the wall behind us. This is exactly what happened with all my films that people love - they were backed by great producers and great Studios," he reflected. "Working with the team at Amazon MGM Studios has been an immensely rewarding and beautiful experience. It was like going back to my early days of filmmaking. We're excited, nervous, and can't wait to share the film with the audience to experience, when it releases in theatres this September."
