Actress Fatima Sana Sheikh found fame in 2016 in wrestling drama Dangal, and since then, has been rising on the ranks of Bollywood. Having debuted in the industry as a child artist long before the Aamir Khan-starrer, Fatima admitted to have been extra cautious while choosing her roles, acknowledging that her selection of films came out of fear and not excitement.

Speaking to PTI, the actress said. "I don't think so much consciously about the kind of films I want to do. I do it very instinctively. Earlier, I used to do it with a lot of fear. Now, I feel like, What will happen?', like the film won't work, but that's okay. You learn from your failures. Now, I'm not scared to explore things. But when I was younger, I was scared to explore. I've chosen out of fear rather than excitement a lot of times.”

Fatima, who last appeared on the big screen portraying Indira Gandhi in the 2023 war drama Sam Bahadur, has three releases slated for this year – Metro... In Dino, Ul Jalool Ishq, and Aap Jaisa Koi – all from the romance genre. Admitting to feeling exhausted viewing violent films, the 33-year-old said, “We are all so tired of dark movies. We don't want to see bloodshed. We just want to sit and watch some romance because, in everyone's life, romance is missing. I have done a lot of love stories, and all three are releasing this year.”

Metro... In Dino is a follow-up to Anurag Basu directorial Life in a... Metro. This will be Fatima’s second collaboration with the director after the 2020 film Ludo. Praising Basu as an “incredible” filmmaker, she said, "I remember telling him, I want to do all your films, I'll do whatever you make'. In his films, the smallest character also is well-written. He is incredible as a maker. I wish he makes more films.”
