The post-mortem examination of television actor Tunisha Sharma, who was found hanging on the sets of a serial in Vasai on Saturday, has revealed that the actor died of suffocation after hanging.
The autopsy has also ruled out rumours of her being pregnant, according to the news agency IANS. There were no injury marks on Tunisha's body.
Meanwhile, Assistant commissioner of police Chandrakant Jadhav, who is investigating the case, said no 'love-jihad' angle has come to light in the probe so far. This is amid BJP MLA Ram Kadam's demand that the police find out if there was a love jihad angle to her suicide. "If this is a case of love jihad, then the police will also probe what organisations are behind it and who the conspirators are," he was quoted as saying.
Based on a complaint filed by Sharma's mother, the police registered a case against the deceased's co-actor, Sheezan M Khan, with whom she was allegedly in a relationship. They had reportedly broken up two weeks ago following which she fell into depression.
Sheezan is currently in four-day police custody. The duo worked together in the fantasy show ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul’.
Meanwhile, Tunisha's uncle Pawan Sharma has come up with allegations against Khan. According to him, Khan was not fully committed to Tunisha even while they were dating. The actress was reportedly stressed due to this and had an anxiety attack days before her death, he told The Times of India.
Tunisha had earlier been open about her fight with depression and anxiety. In an earlier interview, she mentioned how her co-star Kanwar Dhillon had stood by her during her bad times. "I am proud of myself that I have fought the battle with a positive attitude and will get back to work soon," she added.
The actor who made her acting debut with 'Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap' as a child actor had also worked in shows like 'Ishq Subhan Allah', 'Gabbar Poonchwala’, 'Sher-e-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh,' and 'Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat.'
