It is certainly not an easy task to leave an impression on the audience when you share screen with none other than Rajinikanth. But Simran did just that.
While Petta is indeed a star-studded affair with big names names raging from Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha to Nawazuddin Siddiqui battling out for screen space, the onscreen chemistry between Rajinikanth and Simran in the trailer left the audience wanting for more. It also reminded them that when it comes to onscreen romance, there are only a few who can do it like Simran.
In a recent interview with The Hindu Simran revealed that Petta brought her "back on track." She said she was concerned about so many responsibilities and was unsure about what type of films to choose. She called Petta "a real comeback" for her.

Simran said she could not even think of letting Petta go as she has been following the works of Karthik Subbaraj, the director of Petta. She is all praise for the director as she said "he is very clever about what he wants" and managed to have a great director-actor relationship with Rajinikanth on the sets of Petta despite being a great fan of the actor.
She further said in the interview that she has been a great fan of Rajinikanth herself and even tried to emulate his styles and dialogue delivery. Simran said she forgot her dialogues on the first day of the shoot as she was so mesmerised by the presence of Rajinikanth.
Petta is set to hit theatres on January 11.
