Casting couch incidents and allegations are not new to Indian cinema. Many controversies have exploded over the last few decades and the 'Me Too' movement is when the outside world got to know a lot of the dark secrets about the movie industry. Another chapter of casting couch allegations have surfaced, this time in Tamil cinema.
Television actress Manya Anand has made shocking revelations about being approached for a potential casting couch linked to a Dhanush film. While she hasn't revealed which project it was, she mentioned that the intimation came from a man called Shreyas who claimed to be Dhanush's manager. The person then tried to take advantage of the Dhanush factor and tried to urge Manya into accepting the request but she denied vehemently. Strangely, Manya received another text few days later from another person who also claimed to be Dhanush's manager. The tone of messaging and subject were identical, except that this time the person claimed to have already sent the script, which Manya said was untrue.
Meanwhile, Dhanush and his manager have denied these allegations, calling it as the work of a person who impersonated Shreyas in the messages. According to reports, it is said to be a person from Kerala who visits Chennai regularly. The actor's team is yet to pursue this case legally but that is on the cards.
