Director Jithu Madhavan is teaming up with Tamil actor Suriya to make a new blockbuster film.
The project, a mass action comedy, which is yet to be named, currently goes by the working title ‘Suriya 47’ since it is the actor's 47th film.
Fans are speculating that Malayalam actors Nazriya Nazim and Naslen are also starring in the film after an image of them with Suriya after a pooja ceremony went viral. Both actors are reportedly playing lead roles. The photograph was posted by Jithu Madhavan’s wife, Shifina.
Composer Sushin Shyam is also in the photograph, which suggests that he may be producing the music for the film.
Shifina also tagged cinematographer Uni Palode, who will debut in the industry with the film. He previously worked as an associate to cinematographers Shyju Khalid, Sameeer Thahir and Gireesh Gangadharan.
Suriya 47 is backed by Zhagaram studios, speculated to be the actor's new production banner.
An official announcement regarding the film has not been made. The actor is reportedly playing the role of a police officer in the film.
Actress Nazriya, who last starred in Sookshmadarshini, is also a film producer. Naslen rose to fame with the hit film Premalu and also starred in Loka: Chapter 1 Chandra, which broke box office records. 'Suriya 47' would mark his Tamil debut.
Director Jithu Madhavan was previously set to work on a project starring Mohalal, which was reportedly shelved.
He is best known for his film Aavesham, which starred Fahadh Faasil. He made his directorial debut with Romancham. Composer Sushin Shyam worked with him on both of the films.
Suriya’s 45th film, Karuppu, which features Trisha, is yet to be released.
