The wait is over as Apple has finally launched its iPhone 15 series along with Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Apple Watch Series 9 during a much-anticipated event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, on Tuesday night.
But which iPhone model suits you best? Check out the similarities and differences to make the right choice.
One of the main highlights of the new iPhone series is the adoption of USB-C connector with all new models doing away with the lightning ports. They come in two sizes and feature a Super Retina XDR display. The new models also flaunt a contour edge design painted in vibrant colors.
iPhone 15 Pro priced at Rs 1,34,900, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, costing Rs 1,59,900, will be available for pre-order from September 15 and will be available at stores from September 22. iPhone 15 will be priced around Rs 79,900 and iPhone 15 Plus will cost Rs 89,900.
If you are someone who looks for the best camera, iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max might be the better options. iPhone 15 Pro flaunts a 3X zoom camera, which can capture better photos in portrait mode, while iPhone 15 Pro Max will boast a 5X optical zoom camera. The Pro models have retained the same 48MP sensors, but they are 25 per cent larger and enhances Night Mode and Smart HDR.
However, the base iPhone 15 models are too getting a 48MP main camera the helps capture super-high-resolution photos and a new 2x Telephoto option to give users a total of three optical zoom levels — like having a third camera.
iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro will come in 6.1-inch display size while iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be sized at 6.7 inches.
A16 vs A17 Bionic chip
iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are powered by the new A17 Bionic chip, which improves multitasking and energy efficiency. iPhone 15 runs on A16.
All models feature iOS17, which brings some fundamental changes to the software and these will be paired with some big hardware upgrades.
The Dynamic Island feature, made available to Pro versions last year, will be added to the base iPhone 15 models this year.
iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have ultra-slim bezels compared to the base models. The Pro versions also have higher max brightness, longer battery life, faster charging speeds and transfer rates.
The customizable Action button in Pro models allow you to personalise your iPhone experience.
iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will don a titanium frame, which is damage-resistant and fingerprint-proof, instead of the previous stainless steel. The regular iPhone 15 models will keep the light-weight and fingerprint-proof aluminum frame, but not as damage-resistant as the new titanium frames.
